View Page HistoryMeta Fields, a.k.a. Attributes are the different categories of specification of a given class.
For example, a class _Digital Camera_ may have manufacturer, size, weight, lens size, zoom feature, battery duration, LCD screen size, etc as its fields.

h2. Accessing Meta Fields
# [Login to Commerce Manager|http://archives.mediachase.com/doku.php?id=ecf:50:cmenduser:access]. The browser will load and the *Dashboard* will appear in the main window.
# Login to Commerce Manager.
# Select the *Administration* subsystem in the left column. Four nodes below will appear in the upper part of the navigation frame.

New Meta Fields can be created by following two procedures -- the Meta Classes page or from the Meta Fields page. Either way will achieve the same result.
h32. Creating New Meta Fields from the Meta Classes page
# Access the Meta Classes in the Administration subsystem.
** Use Encryption
** Allow Search
** Allow Search
** Use in comparing
Click Ok. The new field will be generated and will be added to the fields list in the Meta Classes Page. The new fields will also be added to the list in the Meta Fields page.
