Configuring Web Analytics

This page contains instructions on how to take advantage of Web analytics like Google Analytics to track visitors, determine conversion rates and so on. Google Analytics is a popular tool by Google that tracks and monitors the visitors on your website in detail.  With Analytics, you can track visitors from various referral sources, including search engines, email campaigns, banner ads, etc.  Analytics will help merchants reach their conversion goals and better understand customer behavior.

h3. Create a Google Analytics Account

You will want to first create a Google Account if you don't have one. Go to the [Google Analytics|http://www.google.com/analytics/] home page and setup your account.

* Expand the *Sites* folder.
* Expand the *Site templates* folder
* Click on the *List of sites* node. The *Site List* window appears on the right.
* From the Site List, click on an existing site. You will then be directed to the *Site Edit* window.
* Scroll to the bottom until you see *SEO Parameters*. Here you can enter keywords and a description relevant to the site that will help popular search engines index your site to drive traffic.
